HONORING THE SUPER WOMEN

This month, and particularly today, is a time to reflect on the incredible women in our world and all they’ve done to further women’s rights and equality. There’s no shortage of those stories floating around right now—from the women who’ve won the Nobel Prize to companies empowering women-run businesses through microfinance. But that’s not what we want to share today.

No, we’re actually more interested in the women who never make the talk show circuit, who haven’t written a best-selling novel, and who don’t run Fortune 500 companies. Don’t get us wrong—we have infinite admiration and respect for those women. But they get plenty of that from everyone else.

Instead, we are dedicating this month of March to the woman sitting next to you on the bus, the one who’s caring for her children, and most importantly, the one reading these words, right now.

You!

Nearly every day, we read an inspiring story about women beating the odds, challenging the status quo, and paving the way for our generation to rocket right through that glass ceiling. Yet, we rarely take the time to appreciate our own accomplishments and reflect on how important our own struggles have been.

So in this month of March that has International Women’s Day and Mother’s Day; we’d like to share a few reminders on why today—and every day forward—isn't just for the big names out there. It’s for us.

Here is a note to self;

1. You can do anything!

That saying is so cliché we hesitate to use it, but as they say, clichés exist for a reason, right? Every time we’ve tested this theory; going out on a limb, do something we didn’t necessarily think we could do—it’s proven correct. So stop hesitating in asking the question, taking the bold step, dressing up in bright colors, putting on that red lipstick, getting a streak of red, purple, or green in your hair, standing up for yourself, you deserve the role you think you do – go for it, SKY is the limit. What more can possibly go wrong? The entire world has seen a downtime with the pandemic. So now it’s time for you to take the lead and rise up.

2. You’re doing a great job in every role;

Stop being guilty that you’re not being true to the role that you’re playing in your life. In fact, if there was ever a medal for being selfless in every role you play probably will have it on your chest by now. You’re a terrific mother, a good wife, a great daughter, and yes a reliable friend, and even if there is some lack or slack; nobody is perfect. But what is important to know is that you are trying your best and you have the determination to make it all fall into place.

3. You’re Building the Future

A few of our friends have young girls, and although we often complain about the constant onslaught of kid stories we have to endure, we will admit that they’re raising some pretty incredible future world leaders. Maybe we were all this way as children, but when we hear the stories of how these little girls are so filled with confidence, self-respect, and limitless aspirations, we can’t help but be proud.

Of course, we can’t directly take credit for how great someone else’s kid turns out, but it’s important to remember that all of us are a crucial part of the environment influencing our world’s future women. Our ambition, our work, our efforts to obliterate the gender gap, and our relentless refusal to give up are paving the way for the next generation, just as our mothers, aunts, and grandmothers did for us. And that’s a pretty big deal.

4. Take time out for yourself

In midst of everything don’t forget to take time out for yourself. At times it is good to prioritize yourself over everything else. We’re not asking you to take a vacation or go on a shopping spree. Well if that’s what makes you happy you can do it - *wink* but in total honesty; keep one activity daily that helps you relax, smile, or gives you contentment. Spare 30 minutes or maybe an hour, but keep one activity daily that is only dedicated to you. This could be as small as putting on nail color, taking a long bubble bath, eating ice cream, calling a friend, hitting the gym, meditating, or watching your favorite TV show.

5. You need pampering

REMEMBER: Everyone needs time off even the biggest of machines to require an overhaul, the mightiest of fighters need the calm. So what makes you think that being the superwoman that you are how long can you keep on going like this? We’ve made your life easier, come to our spa and enjoy incredible pampering throughout the month of March.
